Often when people hear a propane fireplace being referred to, they mistake it with a propane barbecue. Upon further research, they are pleasantly surprised to learn of all the options that are available to them by actually having a heat bearing authentic looking fireplace. The special feature about the propane fireplace is that there are makes and models for both indoor and out.

Propane is a derivative of petroleum and natural gas and it is a colorless odorless gas. It is highly flammable and is contained in cylinder tanks, which must be stored properly away from open flames. Gas lines are the source of power for the fireplace. For indoor propane, gas fireplaces the tanks are stored outdoors. Within the house, the fireplace is supplied fuel through the gas line.
Like any fireplace, when properly handled then they are perfect as a heat supplement to your home as well as becoming a beautiful piece of décor. Everyone has to admit that a fireplace creates cozy warmth and adds much to the atmosphere of the room. Sitting in front of a fireplace is nature’s tranquilizer. The propane unit’s heat quickly and there is no monitoring of the burning as there is in wood burning. Remote control can control the flames, which allows you to determine how much heat you want. From fuel perspective propane currently is comparable with natural gas or even wood for that matter.

Once you decide that you are going to have a propane fireplace then you will need to rely on the services of a professional within this field to install it. There are safety precautions and rules that apply to any fireplace.

In regards to outdoor propane fireplaces, they work on the exact same premise as the indoor units. In this case, the propane tanks may be stored in a separate unit a short distance from the fireplace itself. Once again, you are going to find many choices of styles and sizes to fit your outdoor atmosphere.
